Že kar nekaj časa nazaj sem se nekega dne po mojem mestu sprejahala s fotoaparatom v roki. Pa potem še en drugi dan. Pa še en. Na koncu se je nabralo toliko fotografij, da vas moram opozoriti, da te objave ne bo kmalu konec. Pa še več bi se jih našlo. Kaj naj, Velenje mi je všeč. Vse fotografije povečate s klikom nanje.

Quite some time ago I was on a walk through my hometown with a camera in my hands one day. And then another day. And another. And now there's picture overload! But I could show you even more. What can I do, I like Velenje. All pictures are clickable.

Skokov žal zadnjih nekaj let ni več, ampak upam, da bo skakalnica kmalu prenovljena. Ni boljšega kot poletni nočni tekmi. 

We didn't have ski jumping competitions last few years, but I hope the hill will get renovated as soon as possible. What's better than summer night's ski jumping competitions.

Na gradu najdete super muzej. Meni so najbolj všeč afriške maske. Pa še Kunigundin vodnjak je tu. Menda grajska čarovnica še vedno straši. 

There's a great museum in the castle. I really like African collection. And you can find Kunigunda's fountain here. They say that the beautiful castle's witch still haunts.

Ogromno gradov je v Šaleški dolini in menda vsaj toliko legend o njih. Med šaleškim in velenjskim gradom naj bi obstajal rov pod mestom. 

There're lots of castles in Šalek valley (where Velenje lays) and probably just as many legends about them. Supposedly there's a secret passage under the town between castle Šalek and castle Velenje.

Na tem območju so našli tudi okostja mastadonta, prednika slonov. Ampak tale dva nista prava. 

Bones of mastodon, predecessor of elephant, were found in the area. But these two aren't real.

Vsako leto je pri nas Pikin festival z ogroooomno delavnicami in drugimi dogodki. Mislim, da sem v otroštvu cel tisti teden v letu preživela na delavnicah. Zdaj pa še tudi rada skočim pogledat. Pikina vila Čira-čara pa stoji celo leto. 

We have Pippi Longstocking's children festival each year. There are lots of creative workshops and I probably spent whole week each year on those as a child. And I love to take a look at them even now. Pippi's Villa Villekulla stands here whole year.

V Velenju ima zelo veliko vlogo rudarstvo, tu pa najdete Muzej premogovništva Slovenije. Če se ne motim, je jamski del zaradi požara še vedno zaprt, vseeno pa je možno videti zunanji del. 

Coal mining has a big role in Velenje and you can find Coal mining museum of Slovenia here. The underground parts are still closed because of the fire, if I'm not mistaken, but you can see many interesting things in above ground parts.

Za slovo pa še čisto velenjski grafit, ki vas pozdravi, če pridete s celjske strani. Verjetno moj najljubši grafit. 

And in the end a graffiti that welcomes you if you come on the road that comes from Celje. I don't even know how I'd translate it, but "srečno" means good luck and is something miners always say before they go to work. And "lejga" means something like "yo" or "yo dude" (that sounds silly in English) and we often say it here. It's probably my favourite graffiti ever.
